A story of Oppositions
Starting indecisively with the concept of indecisiveness, ’A story of oppositions’ is a 15 minutes dance solo created and performed by Keren-or Ben Shachar. It is a decision-making attempt to understand our doubtful and wishful human parts. The solo portrays a female character constantly shifting between two poles of decisions, between the doubts fueled by fears and the desires and dreams to move on. The inspiration to create this solo came from an interest in how people make decisions. Indecisiveness is a strange feeling, it is staying in between possibilities, in a limbo of oppositions. The question, what drives us to make a decision and what prevents us from moving on, led Keren to deepen into the theme and search for an artistic and moving interpretation.

”…Keren presents a vulnerable, honest and recognizable story. Playful, interactive and moving…”

”..with Shachar moving virtuosically across the floor .. The body throws itself, rolls around, hands that want to move forward towards the desired…A lifetime’s worth of decisions and non-decisions pour out of her, revealing an existential jumble that is very recognizable to me: all that happened because we decided, because we didn’t, because someone else did. ”
